Raísse Herculano was born in Pombal (PB), in 1962 and has always been interested in the primitive rock paintings of Paraíba. “It feels as if they run in my veins. I like this primitive world. I tried making other things but they didn’t work. This is my path; the primitive, the Black and the native people – they are all of us.”
Raísse lives in João Pessoa. She studied art education and found her calling in clay. “I used to make other things before but this kind of expression is very natural to me, intuitive. I didn’t study fine arts, but art came into my life this way.”
