Deo Almeida has always lived in Icoaraci near the numerous ceramic shops and workshops that abound in the area. The Marajoara, Maracá and Tapajó motifs are part of his life. At an early age he started painting pieces made at the local workshops.
Also early on he started working at the Ateliê do Anísio workshop where he learned to sculpt. His dedication was such that he decided to research the local native cultures by himself. Because of his knowledge of the subject and his technique as a sculptor he was invited to take part in an archaeological expedition that unearthed 23 Tapajó urns in the area.
Deo knows and feels this is his path and is always seeking to learn more. He takes classes, observes, asks and develops his solo career with success.
