Antônio Julião, Vicentina’s brother, was born in 1966. Following in the footsteps of his elder brother, he now makes a living from sculpture. His themes are regional. “I put experiences of my life into every piece I make.” The huge columns he sculpts are decorated with narratives that include workers, slaves, and many animals and birds that represent life itself. His two children and his wife have started carving wood as well, as if destiny said: “If you are a member of the Julião family, take a piece of wood and start carving”.
